Mr. Ho Kay Tat – Non-Executive Chairman

Mr. Ho Kay Tat was appointed Non-Executive Director of the Company in July 2010. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad. He’s had more than 27 years of experience in journalism and has served as Editor-in-Chief of The Edge (Singapore); The Edge (Malaysia) and The Sun. He was also Managing Director of The Sun and The Edge, as well as Executive Director for Nexnews Bhd (2000 to 2008). Mr. Ho graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Social Science from University Sains Malaysia (Penang), with a major in Political Science and minor in Mass Communcations.

Mr. Ko Chee Wah – Group Managing Director/Executive Director

Mr. Ko Chee Wah has been a Director with the Company since its incorporation. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry and brings with him an in-depth knowledge of the business and an extensive network of contacts and alliances. Mr. Ko is responsible for the strategic business development of our Group and the day-to-day management of the Company. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Business Administration from the University of Singapore.

Mr. Lim Poh Hock – Executive Director

Mr. Lim Poh Hock has been a Director of our Company since its incorporation. He oversees the administrative and internal management of the Group. Mr. Lim has over 30 years of experience in various industries, 20 of which has been spent in Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE). He is the founder, and still a major shareholder, of Faco Electric Co Pte Ltd which specialises in the manufacture and distributorship of electric heaters. Mr. Lim holds a Diploma in Business Studies from Ngee Ann Technical College, Singapore.

Datuk Vincent Lee - Non-Executive Director

Datuk Vincent Lee is Executive Deputy Chairman of The Star Group. He also sits on the boards of MNC Wireless Bhd and SHH Resources Holdings Bhd. Datuk Lee is the Group Executive Chairman of Feotus International Sdn Bhd and he sits on the board of several integrated advertising-related companies. He’s been the President of Association of Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and past Chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).

Mr. Chua Soo Chiew – Independent Director

Mr. Chua Soo Chiew has been an Independent Director of the Group since 2005 and is a practising public accountant with over twenty years of professional experience. He was the sole proprietor of Chua Soo Chiew & Co. and subsequently became a partner in the firm. He currently serves as Chairman of the Group’s Audit and Nominating Committees. He holds an MBA from Victoria University (Australia) and a Bachelor of Laws (Honour) degree from University of London. Mr. Chua is also a member of both CPA Singapore and CPA Australia.

Mr. Tan Hup Foi - Independent Director

Mr Tan Hup Foi has been an Independent Director of the Group since 2007. He is currently Chairman of Ngee Ann Polytechnic Council; Honorary Vice-President of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and Honorary Chairman of UITP Asia-Pacific Division. Mr. Tan is also on the Board of the Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (SCORE). He has over 30 years’ of experience in the transport industry, having held appointments as Chief Executive of Trans-Island Bus Service Ltd (1994 to 2005) and the Deputy President of SMRT Corporation (2003 to 2005). A Colombo Plan scholar, Mr. Tan obtained his Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University (Australia) and his MSc in Industrial Engineering from the University of Singapore. Mr. Tan was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal) in 1996 and the Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Star) in 2008 by the President of Singapore.

Dató Loke Yuen Yow – Independent Director

Dató Loke Yuen Yow was appointed to our Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2009. He graduated with a BSc (Honors) degree from the University of Malaya. He was Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Finance (1986 to 1995) and Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports (1995 to 1999). He was also a Member of Parliament from 1999 to 2008. Since 2008 he’s been Executive Chairman of Perumahan Permai Sandakan Jaya Sdn Bhd and also sits on the Board of Directors of Huaren Holdings Sdn Bhd.

Mr. Loh Seng Kok – Independent Director

Mr. Loh Seng Kok was appointed to our Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in 2010. He was Political Secretary to Malaysia’s Minister of Transport (1995 to 2003), and a Member of Parliament from 2004 to 2008. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Executive Director at Thwinnovations Marketing Sdn Bhd. Mr. Loh is currently CEO of 1Malaysia Community Alliance Foundation and Director at Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad.
