Indonesia Pavilion a Win for Cityneon

S$13 million contract for the Indonesia pavilion

The World Expo is one of the most important events for governments and corporations around the world. The World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai from May to October 2010. Based on the theme "Better City, Better Life", the event aims to inspire people towards sustainable and harmonious urban living and is expected to attract 70 million visitors over a six-month period with 186 countries and 47 international organisations participating thus far.

Indonesia's pavilion at the World Expo will be the largest the country has ever built.

Occupying 4,000 square metres, it will offer visitors a glimpse of the country's diverse culture and lifestyle. In keeping with the World Expo theme of "Better City, Better Life", the materials used are organic such as bamboo and timber, and can be re-used after the exhibition.

The theme of the pavilion-  "Biodivercity" is built with natural, organic materials that is re-usable that is in line with Indonesia's eco-friendly policies. Visitors can experience, through sights and sounds in a multi-sensory environment, the diverse natural resources and culture of Indonesia and its creative people.

Cityneon is honoured to provide its expertise in the design and build of the Indonesia pavilion to bring the Indonesia culture and lifestyle to the World Expo 2010, Shanghai.

Officiating at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Indonesia pavilion is Indonesian Minister of Trade, Dr Mari Elka Pangestu, who said that this signifies the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.
