Cityneon Joins Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics 

Singapore, 20 April 2010 – Cityneon Holdings Limited (“Cityneon”) through one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries has joined the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Singapore 2010) as the Official Special Events Infrastructure – Marquees / Tents Partner. Cityneon is providing the supply, distribution and management of temporary special event infrastructure. This includes marquees, tents and canopies for exhibition and event use.
On Cityneon’s involvement in the world’s first ever Youth Olympic Games, its Group Managing Director, Mr Ko Chee Wah said, “The inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore will be a sporting spectacle of unprecedented standing and scale. We are honoured to be part of this large scale sporting event and to be able to contribute our expertise and experience to ensure the success of the Games. While our business has grown rather internationally to Asia, Middle East and beyond, our roots have always been Singaporean for the past 52 years. We are delighted to come on-board as an Official Partner and for our marquees and tents to be an integral part of the Games.”
Having the right event infrastructure at Singapore 2010 competition and training venues across the island is critical to the success of the Games. Cityneon’s proven expertise in supplying events infrastructure to large scale outdoor events as well as their services will contribute to the success of the Games. These special event infrastructures will be deployed at 23 locations around Singapore during the Games, providing athletes, officials and spectators with shelter from the weather, and a good Games experience.
Cityneon and SYOGOC marked the occasion with a dose of sporting fanfare in the form of sprint relays as part of the signing ceremony. Mr Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Transport., officiated the event as the guest of honour.
Cityneon also launched the Cityneon Sports Excellence Scholarship for the Singapore Sports School with its Managing Director, Mr Ko, handing a cheque to the Singapore Sports School.
